British WealthTech platform Belong, which focuses on making investing more accessible and engaging for young investors, has successfully closed its first crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.
The campaign exceeded expectations, surpassing its initial £300,000 target in under five hours and ultimately securing over £489,000 in total funding.
The round saw backing from notable investors, including OpenAI, DeepMind, and Monzo.
Belong aims to revolutionise wealth-building for millennials and young adults, providing investment solutions designed to be engaging, and rewarding. The platform offers GIA and Stocks & Shares ISA accounts, alongside its unique Boost loan—a feature that allows users to double their initial investment with a low, fixed-interest loan, helping to maximise the effect of compounding returns over time.
The newly secured funding will support product enhancements, customer acquisition, and strategic partnerships within the UK.
Since its launch, Belong has demonstrated strong traction, with over 80% of users opting for the Boost loan, highlighting the appeal of its alternative investment model.
Belong CEO and co-founder Avion Gray said, “Millennials and Gen Zs are being left behind in wealth-building, not because they lack ambition, but because they’re faced with convoluted systems, overwhelming choices, and a lack of true innovation. At Belong, we’re changing that. By working hand-in-hand with our community, we’ve created a next-generation investing experience – one that is intuitive, engaging, and designed to help people invest more effectively.
“With an estimated £254bn of cash currently held by 25-44-year-olds in the UK, there’s a clear requirement for modern solutions. This raise is a testament to the appetite for change, and we’re thrilled to have so many investors joining us on this journey.”
Belong previously made headlines when it secured a £2.95m pre-seed round, marking the largest ever pre-seed funding in Europe for an all-female founding team.
The company is backed by leading investors including Octopus Ventures, Connect Ventures, and over 50 angel investors, who have been involved in companies such as Robinhood, Nutmeg, and Wise.
