Sage has announced key progress in its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), focused on enhancing AI-powered accounting and compliance tools for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
As an AWS SMB Software Competency partner, Sage is leveraging services such as Amazon Bedrock and AWS’s AI chips to accelerate the development of reliable, purpose-built AI models.
The collaboration has helped Sage integrate Large and Small Language Models into its suite of financial tools, enhancing its AI assistant, Sage Copilot. Currently available in the UK, US, France, Spain, and Germany, Sage Copilot is embedded across core platforms including Sage Accounting and Sage Intacct, offering intelligent automation and real-time financial insights.
Sage EVP of cloud services and operations Amaya Souarez said, “Our collaboration with AWS enables us to develop and scale AI solutions that directly address the challenges SMBs face.
“By combining Sage’s deep accounting expertise with the powerful AI infrastructure of AWS, we are creating technology that is not just intelligent, but also trusted and practical for finance. These advancements make financial decision-making smarter, more intuitive, and more efficient, helping SMBs reduce time spent on financial admin, gain greater visibility into their finances, and focus on growing their business.”
Key developments include the Accounting Filtering Model, which ensures that AI-generated answers remain relevant to financial topics, and new endpoint detection capabilities that improve how user queries are interpreted.
Additionally, Sage is using AWS-powered tools to enhance data search through its new Semantic Search API. This upgrade improves the accessibility and relevance of financial insights while supporting multilingual capabilities and up-to-date compliance data.
