The Outdoorsy Group has announced the expansion of its InsurTech platform Roamly into Canada, marking a key step in its international growth strategy.

As part of this move, Roamly has also completed the acquisition of Canadian Access and has opened a new headquarters in Toronto. Alongside this expansion, the company has entered into an enterprise partnership with Aviva.

Rich Sanders has been appointed as president of Roamly. Sanders highlighted the importance of this expansion, stating that establishing a Toronto headquarters was a natural progression following Roamly’s rapid growth in Canada.

Roamly’s enterprise platform offers insurance companies access to a cutting-edge solution designed to simplify underwriting, pricing and policy management processes. Leveraging AI-powered technology, the platform processes over 200 terabytes of actuarial data daily, enabling insurers to enhance their underwriting accuracy and accelerate their product launches.

Roamly president Rich Sanders said, “Our expansion into Canada marks a pivotal moment for the CAD$82B general insurance market, which is projected to reach CAD$143bn by 2029. Roamly is transforming the traditional insurance model with technology that enables our partners to operate more effectively in a highly regulated and complex industry.”

He added, “With the acquisition of Canadian Access, we can bring our technology to the Canadian insurance ecosystem, offering both our enterprise partners and everyday consumers a seamless, digital-first insurance experience.”

Adam Beach, president of Canadian Access, said, “We are excited to join the Roamly team and support their vision of modernizing insurance for Canadians. Roamly’s technology platform will allow us to better serve consumers and insurance companies, giving them access to faster and more efficient insurance solutions.”

In addition to its partnership with Aviva, Roamly plans to pursue further collaborations with insurers to develop tailored insurance products for the Canadian market. These products will focus on areas such as home, auto, specialty insurance and mobility marketplaces, including services for carsharing platforms and RV rental marketplaces.
