Orca Security, a leader in agentless cloud security, has announced its acquisition of Opus, a fast-growing startup focused on agentic AI-powered automation and orchestration.
Orca is recognised for its pioneering role in cloud-native application protection platforms (CNAPP), while Opus has rapidly gained traction for its innovative remediation capabilities in cloud environments.
The acquisition is intended to take Orca’s platform beyond visibility and risk prioritisation into full-scale, AI-powered remediation and prevention. While the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the strategic importance is clear: this move marks a significant leap in Orca’s mission to deliver comprehensive, autonomous cloud security.
Orca’s platform is widely used for agentless cloud security, allowing organisations to detect, prioritise, and now increasingly remediate threats across their cloud infrastructure without installing agents. The company has led innovation in CNAPP with its focus on deep visibility and risk contextualisation.
Opus, co-founded by Meny Har and Or Gabay—part of the original team behind Siemplify, which was acquired by Google Cloud in 2021—has developed a reputation for closing the “last mile” of cloud security by enabling automated remediation. Their expertise in agentic AI allows systems not just to detect issues but also to resolve them in real time and at scale.
This acquisition is expected to position Orca as the first CNAPP provider to deliver an end-to-end solution, moving from detection to autonomous action. By integrating Opus’ technology and team, Orca aims to reduce the manual burden on security teams and provide faster, more effective responses to emerging threats.
Orca Security CEO and co-founder Gil Geron said, “This is the next big leap for Orca and the cloud security industry. We’ve already set the standard for agentless visibility and prioritization. With the acquisition of Opus, we’re moving decisively into the era of intelligent action, where cloud security problems are not just seen, but solved automatically.”
Opus co-founder and CEO Meny Har added, “Orca invented the current approach to cloud security, and it’s constantly raised the bar through continuous innovation. At Opus, our mission has always been to close the last mile — making it radically easier to get security issues fixed. Joining forces with a category leader like Orca gives us the platform to take that mission further than ever before, leveraging Agentic AI to transform how risks are resolved at scale.”
