EcoVadis has unveiled a new survey tool, Worker Voice, designed to collect real-time, anonymous feedback from workers across the global supply chain.
Developed in partnership with Ulula, the tool is intended to address labour risks and improve corporate human rights due diligence. With mounting regulatory pressures and stakeholder expectations, the platform aims to move businesses beyond tick-box compliance and enable meaningful progress in responsible sourcing.
Amid global trade volatility and persistent supply chain disruptions, organisations face heightened risk of labour exploitation, particularly forced labour and poor working conditions. Worker Voice gives companies a cost-effective way to gain first-hand insight into working conditions, especially during periods of economic instability where vulnerable workers are often most impacted.
The solution stands in contrast to traditional social audits, which are often irregular, costly, and limited in their reach. Worker Voice offers direct access to employee experiences at all levels of the supply chain—regardless of workers’ location, literacy, or language—by leveraging mobile surveys, SMS, and in-person data collection.
Anonymity is a key feature of Worker Voice. By removing the risk of retaliation, the platform encourages workers to provide candid insights. This supports accurate identification of workplace concerns, such as excessive overtime, unsafe environments, and harassment.
The platform delivers instant, actionable insights by analysing worker responses in real-time and flagging potential problems as they arise. This helps companies to respond rapidly to issues and implement changes that prioritise worker safety and well-being.
Crucially, the solution also aligns with international regulations and standards related to modern slavery and human rights due diligence. It enables organisations to enhance their social compliance efforts and demonstrate a tangible commitment to ethical supply chains.
Worker Voice is designed for global deployment, with automated surveys that allow companies to scale their due diligence efforts quickly. Companies can roll out surveys by sharing QR codes or phone numbers with suppliers, and workers can complete the questionnaire in under 10 minutes, in their preferred language. The survey remains open for 10 days to encourage high participation.
EcoVadis co-founder and co-CEO Pierre-François Thaler said, “Companies are under pressure to comply with new regulations and meet rising stakeholder expectations, but policy without visibility falls short of where it matters most – on the ground with workers.
“EcoVadis Worker Voice arms our customers with the data and insight they need to go beyond compliance and turn ethical commitments into real-world outcomes for workers across their value chain.”
