LSEG has announced an extension of its multi-year collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), strengthening their strategic partnership.
Under the new agreement, AWS has been appointed as the preferred cloud provider for LSEG’s Markets, Risk Intelligence, and FTSE Russell divisions. The move builds on the existing collaboration between the two organisations.
The expanded partnership will see LSEG migrate more of its internal systems to the cloud, aiming to boost its operational resilience and enhance security. The migration will also support the development of new services and products for its customers. Through the use of Amazon Bedrock, LSEG’s Risk Intelligence division will be able to deliver faster and more accurate risk analysis, enabling clients to remain agile and strengthen their resilience.
Customers will also continue to benefit from access to historical and quantitative data from FTSE Russell indices through AWS. This access will help users uncover deeper market insights while simultaneously reducing time-to-insight and cutting operational costs. Additionally, LSEG Markets plans to leverage AWS Outposts to deliver highly resilient and scalable services to its customer base.
LSEG group head of markets Daniel Maguire said, “Our ongoing collaboration with AWS is an important part of the Group’s cloud strategy. LSEG’s role as a leading global market infrastructure and data provider means that operational resilience is the foundation of everything we do – and cloud services are the cornerstone of our approach.
“We look forward to working with AWS to deliver innovative products and an enhanced experience for our customers to support their trading and risk management activity.”
AWS EMEA managing director Tanuja Randery said, “AWS has deep expertise in meeting the unique needs of financial markets participants around the world, and we are excited about the opportunity to scale our work with LSEG. We look forward to helping LSEG drive innovation for their financial services customers and improve resilience.”
