ila Bank, a mobile-only digital bank powered by Bank ABC, has announced a renewed partnership with Mastercard, a global leader in payments technology.

The collaboration aims to enhance ila Bank’s suite of consumer products by introducing premium travel offerings, lifestyle rewards, and bolstered fraud protection tools.

The partnership seeks to strengthen ila Bank’s value proposition, particularly in the area of customer loyalty and affluent product offerings. By leveraging Mastercard’s extensive experience and global capabilities, ila Bank will introduce an upgraded loyalty programme that caters to customers’ lifestyles through rewards across luxury shopping, travel, dining, and exclusive experiences.

ila Bank, headquartered in Bahrain, is a fully digital, mobile-only bank backed by Bank ABC and committed to delivering customer-first banking solutions. Since its launch, it has become recognised for its innovative digital products including debit, credit, and prepaid cards, and a mobile platform with advanced saving tools like Hassala and Jamiya, and the prize-based Al Kanz account.

Mastercard is a global FinTech giant in payment processing technology, known for enabling secure, seamless digital transactions across more than 210 countries. The company continues to collaborate with regional players like ila Bank to drive innovation, digital inclusion, and enhanced user experience in banking and payments.

As part of this renewed agreement, ila Bank will also benefit from Mastercard’s fraud prevention technologies and privacy-enhancing tools, further solidifying transaction security and trust. The product line will focus on high-value, lifestyle-oriented offerings that align with the increasing trend toward digital, cashless financial ecosystems.

Mastercard has supported ila Bank since its inception, previously working together on the multi-currency debit card, the Pay with Rewards programme, and a co-branded airline card with Gulf Air. The new initiatives build upon these foundations to deliver a premium, secure, and rewarding digital banking experience.

ila Bank has quickly established itself as a frontrunner in regional FinTech thanks to its bespoke approach to customer needs and its award-winning mobile application. The bank’s card portfolio, combined with its loyalty ecosystem, offers unmatched flexibility and tailored benefits for users.

ila Bank CEO Mohamed Almaraj said, “ila has always been about the customer. We are proud to have maintained our commitment to offering customer-centric solutions and experiences in a growingly cashless economy, and this strategic agreement furthers the ila promise of ‘banking that reflects you’. Renewing our engagement with Mastercard will strengthen our standing as the frontrunner in the region’s digital payments landscape by offering the most seamless, secure and future-focused product portfolio that provides unparalleled premium benefits.”

Mastercard’s division president for West Arabia Adam Jones said, “In line with our shared commitment to driving innovation across the digital ecosystem, our long-standing relationship with ila Bank focuses on delivering customer-first solutions that help ensure a secure and rewarding banking experience. We will continue to provide our partners with enhanced product offering, supporting regional expansion.”
