Paris-based Klaimy, a French InsurTech startup focused on revolutionising medical document processing, has raised €1.2m in pre-seed funding to advance its AI-powered solutions for insurers.

The investment round was led by Insurtech Gateway and also saw participation from U-Investors, Tenity, and a group of angel investors, according to InsurTech Insights.

Founded in 2023, Klaimy specialises in using artificial intelligence to extract medical conditions from documentation with an accuracy rate reportedly above 98%. Its technology is designed to tackle critical challenges in insurance underwriting and claims processing, including fraud detection, incomplete data, and medical inconsistencies.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its engineering and data science teams, enhance its core product capabilities, and accelerate its commercial launch across European markets.

Klaimy’s roadmap includes the development of additional AI-driven decision support tools that go beyond basic automation. These forthcoming features aim to intelligently assist insurers in navigating complex medical files, thereby reducing operational burden and improving outcomes.

The company joins a rising cohort of European InsurTech startups leveraging artificial intelligence to upgrade outdated processes and boost efficiency across the insurance value chain. Klaimy’s dual emphasis on automation and intelligent assistance positions it as a key innovator in this space.

Klaimy CEO Amira Nakouri said, “We’re solving a core pain point that every health and life insurer faces: how to make fast, accurate decisions on complex medical files. Our mission is to turn medical data chaos into clarity—with AI that doesn’t just automate, but truly assists.”

Insurtech Gateway CEO Richard Chattock added, “They bring an exceptional mix of AI expertise and insurance know-how. Their platform is not only simplifying workflows but significantly improving accuracy and decision-making. We’re excited to back their journey.”

No previous funding has been publicly disclosed for Klaimy prior to this pre-seed round.
