UK-based InsurTech firm Cytora has announced a strategic partnership with US property data specialist LightBox, aimed at transforming the way insurers evaluate and underwrite property risk.

The collaboration brings together Cytora’s digital risk processing platform with LightBox’s expansive property data network, promising faster, more accurate underwriting decisions.

Through the integration, users of Cytora’s platform can now access LightBox’s comprehensive property datasets directly within their workflows.

This seamless connection enhances risk intake by providing underwriters with real-time insights into property characteristics, environmental data, building footprints, and neighbourhood information—empowering them to make more informed decisions in an increasingly complex insurance landscape.

Cytora’s digital platform already enables insurers to digitise every incoming risk, enriching it with real-time data to drive timely, data-driven decisions. The company recently unveiled a major update to its platform, adding agentic AI features that boost the transparency and performance of its risk assessment tools.

The collaboration with LightBox is the latest move in Cytora’s wider strategy to build a robust data ecosystem tailored to the needs of commercial insurers. It follows other significant milestones, including a high-profile partnership with global insurer Chubb and the launch of its next-generation underwriting platform earlier this year.

“For us, it’s all about enhancing underwriting precision,” said Zaheer Hooda, Cytora’s Head of North America. “Our collaboration with LightBox ensures that underwriters have access to cutting-edge property intelligence, helping them to proactively assess and mitigate risks with unparalleled accuracy. It is the next step on our mission to deliver innovation and best-in-class data to insurers to enhance risk evaluation and underwriting excellence, allowing them to stay ahead in the dynamic risk landscape.”

LightBox, which sources data from more than 10,000 property-related databases across the US, offers detailed intelligence that helps insurers understand the full context of property risks. This enriched data enables better risk selection and pricing decisions.

“In today’s challenging environment, access to accurate and complete information is more critical than ever,” said Caroline Stoll, General Manager of Data and Analytics at LightBox. “Our nationwide property data, combined with Cytora’s powerful risk processing capabilities, will help insurers navigate an ever-changing risk environment with agility and precision. Together, we are setting a new standard for property risk assessment in the insurance industry.”

The partnership reflects Cytora’s ongoing commitment to delivering innovation and advancing the tools available to underwriters in a fast-evolving risk landscape.
