The tech industry has historically been male-dominated, but the landscape is evolving. Women are stepping into leadership roles, driving innovation, and proving that success is determined by skills, vision, and perseverance—not gender. At Air Doctor, female leaders are redefining leadership in a fast-paced, technology-driven world.
To mark International Women’s Day, the women leading Air Doctor shared their insights and advice, aiming to inspire the next generation of female leaders to step forward with confidence.
Ilana Fletcher, SVP Strategic Partnerships & Sales, believes in trusting instincts and embracing continuous learning. “Trust your gut—your instincts are a powerful guide, especially in fast-moving industries like tech. Don’t be intimidated by the technology; you don’t need to know everything from day one.”
Yifat Ben Yehuda, CPO, stresses that leadership is about efficiency and impact rather than gender. “Women are just as capable as men, and success isn’t about gender—it’s about skill, efficiency, and impact.”
Efrat Marmur, VP Marketing, encourages women to recognise their value. “Believe in your abilities and continuously develop your skills. If you understand your value, it doesn’t matter which industry you aim for.”
Dana Levy, VP Account Management & Growth, highlights the importance of confidence. “Own your seat at the table. Confidence is just as crucial as competence. Don’t wait for permission—speak up, ask for opportunities, and take on challenges that push you outside your comfort zone.”
Overcoming challenges in a male-dominated industry
Despite progress, women in tech still face challenges, from overcoming biases to balancing professional and personal responsibilities.
Efrat Sagi-Ofir, Co-Founder & CRO, shares how prioritising tasks helped her career. “I realised that while only I can read my child a bedtime story, anyone can do the laundry. Learning to prioritise what truly matters helped me focus on my career without guilt.”
Ilana Fletcher overcame self-doubt by shifting her mindset. “Early on, I hesitated to speak up, questioning whether I had the right to take up space. Confidence isn’t about knowing everything—it’s about trusting that I bring value.”
Yifat Ben Yehuda faced challenges with assertiveness being misinterpreted. “The same directness and decisiveness valued in male leaders can be judged differently in women. Over time, I learned to navigate this by staying confident while ensuring my communication style is clear and intentional.”
Breaking stereotypes and changing perceptions
Women in tech are not exceptions; they are essential contributors shaping the industry.
Efrat Marmur advocates for recognising women’s contributions. “Women in tech bring diverse perspectives and innovative problem-solving approaches that drive progress.”
Yaara Guetta-Weidberg, Product Team Lead, challenges outdated perceptions. “Women in tech, sciences, and leadership aren’t unicorns. We’re already shaping breakthrough products, research, and businesses.”
Chana Blinder, QA Team Leader, encourages women to step into the industry. “Tech isn’t a ‘male’ industry—it’s for anyone with curiosity, drive, and willingness to learn.”
Taking decisive action for gender equality
Jenny Cohen Derfler, Co-Founder & CEO, calls for equal compensation. “To accelerate action on gender equality in tech, we must ensure equal pay for equal contribution.”
Yifat Ben Yehuda emphasises talent over stereotypes. “True equality in tech means focusing on skills and contributions rather than gender.”
Inspiring the next generation of female leaders
Air Doctor’s female leaders share their advice for aspiring women in tech:
Efrat Sagi-Ofir: “Be brave, follow your dreams, and seek advice. Your leadership and ideas can shape the future.”
Dana Levy: “Success isn’t just about reaching the top—it’s about making the journey easier for those who come after you.”
Aviva Friedman, VP Finance: “Learn from setbacks and never let imposter syndrome hold you back. You belong here.”
