The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has selected a fifth algorithm (HQC) to add to its PQC portfolio. It plans to issue a draft HQC standard in early 2026, with the finalized standard expected in 2027. Last year, security researchers uncovered 7,966 new vulnerabilities impacting the WordPress ecosystem, most of them affecting plugins and themes, WordPress security firm Patchstack notes in a fresh report.
