Visa, a global leader in digital payments, has announced the launch of Tap-to-Add Card in Egypt.

The company, renowned for its secure and seamless payment solutions, aims to enhance digital wallet adoption with this latest innovation, according to FF News.

The introduction of Tap-to-Add Card is part of Visa’s strategy to promote digital payments in Egypt.

By simplifying the process of adding contactless cards to digital wallets, the solution encourages greater adoption and provides a more secure and convenient experience for cardholders.

Visa provides secure digital payment solutions worldwide, facilitating fast and reliable transactions for businesses and individuals. The company continues to innovate to improve security, enhance customer experiences, and drive digital transformation in global markets.

Tap-to-Add Card eliminates the need for manual data entry when adding a card to a digital wallet. Instead, cardholders can simply tap their Visa contactless card on their mobile device to add it instantly.

This not only speeds up the process but also reduces errors and security vulnerabilities associated with manual input.

The feature leverages Visa’s Chip Authenticate service, which generates a unique one-time code to validate the card’s provisioning. This ensures that card credentials are securely added, offering a significantly faster and more secure alternative to traditional methods.

For issuers, Tap-to-Add Card reduces provisioning fraud risks and lowers the costs associated with manual card entry errors. It also enhances the user experience, resulting in fewer customer service inquiries and improved transaction approval rates. The system adheres to Visa’s stringent security standards, ensuring robust protection for all stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.

Tap-to-Add Card has gained significant popularity worldwide since its launch, demonstrating its effectiveness in simplifying the digital wallet integration process. The success of this feature underscores Visa’s commitment to providing innovative payment solutions that align with global digital transformation trends.

Visa’s Egypt country manager and vice president, Malak El Baba, said, “We are always keen to introduce innovative and integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers and keep pace with the rapid global transformation in digital payments. The ‘Tap-to-Add Card’ feature will boost customer confidence and encourage wider adoption of digital payments.”

She added: “Our goal is to empower individuals and businesses with cutting-edge technologies that offer both speed and security. The ‘Tap-to-Add Card’ feature leverages advanced technology to protect cardholder data from fraud attempts while also saving users time and effort by eliminating the need for manual card entry—delivering a faster, easier, and more secure experience. Visa takes pride in being a key player in Egypt’s digital transformation journey and remains committed to supporting the country’s electronic payment ecosystem, reinforcing its dedication to advancing Egypt’s ambitious vision of becoming a cashless, technology-driven society.”
