SpecterOps, a leading provider of adversary-focused cybersecurity solutions, has successfully raised a substantial $75m in its Series B funding round.
The round was spearheaded by Insight Partners, a global software investor, with significant contributions from other investors including Ansa Capital, M12, Ballistic Ventures, Decibel, and Cisco Investments.
This funding will primarily support the scaling of SpecterOps’ BloodHound Enterprise (BHE), the first platform in the industry dedicated to comprehensively removing Identity-based Attack Paths. The company’s innovative approach treats enterprise identity architectures as dynamic, interconnected graphs, continuously detecting and addressing potential security vulnerabilities.
SpecterOps aims to use the new funding to drive its next phase of expansion and enhance its capabilities in defending organizations against modern identity security threats. Since launching BHE in 2021, the company has seen rapid customer adoption, with its annual recurring revenue (ARR) growing 100% year-on-year in 2024 and new customer acquisition increasing by over 60% in the fourth quarter alone.
Additional information highlights the company’s broader contributions to the cybersecurity field, including its industry-leading research and extensive community engagement. SpecterOps maintains the BloodHound Community Edition, an open-source pen-testing tool that has become a standard for modeling attack paths in Active Directory (AD) environments, endorsed by Microsoft and CISA. The firm’s team has also made over 400 security community contributions, created more than 90 open-source security tools, and trained over 7,000 students in adversary-focused courses.
SpecterOps CEO David McGuire commented on the funding, “Identity-based threats are growing, often due to the growing complexity of enterprise identity architectures, and enterprises need a proactive, dynamic approach to stay ahead. Our Attack Path Management methodology helps organizations manage identity risk by treating the identity ecosystem as a living, interconnected graph, continuously detecting and addressing attack paths. This round of investor support will allow us to drive our next phase of expansion and help organizations defend themselves against the devastating effects of modern identity security attacks.”
