Plumery and Aequilibrium partner to modernise digital banking for Canadian credit unionsPlumery and Aequilibrium partner to modernise digital banking for Canadian credit unions

As Canadian credit unions prepare for the end of Central 1’s digital banking platforms, Plumery and Aequilibrium have joined forces to support the sector through this critical period of transition.

Plumery, known for its digital banking experience platform focused on customer-centricity, and Aequilibrium, a Vancouver-based digital transformation specialist, are working together to offer a secure and scalable alternative for small to mid-sized credit unions impacted by the wind-down of Central 1’s Forge and MemberDirect solutions.

The move comes as the National Digital Banking Working Group (NDBWG) continues its search for solutions that reflect the unique needs and cooperative values of Canada’s credit union network. Plumery’s platform is built on a multi-tenant cloud-native architecture, allowing credit unions to share core infrastructure while maintaining full data isolation and tailored user experiences. This model reduces implementation costs and operational complexity.

Plumery founder and CEO Ben Goldin said, “Our Digital Success Fabric was designed specifically as a true cloud-native SaaS solution for institutions of this size. This approach democratises access to sophisticated financial technology previously available only to larger institutions with substantial IT resources.”

Aequilibrium is contributing its expertise to help streamline the migration process and guide credit unions through this pivotal moment.

Aequilibrium founder and CEO Adrian Moise said, “We simplify banking by designing and implementing integrated digital experiences – from public websites to digital banking platforms – that balance standardisation and differentiation, strengthen each credit union’s unique identity and community impact.”

Founded in Vancouver, Aequilibrium has built a strong reputation in the financial services space with successful deployments across Canada, the US, and LATAM.
