eBay has partnered with Klarna to provide millions of eBay’s U.S. customers with Klarna’s flexible payment solutions, further strengthening their collaboration, which has already seen success across Europe.
The expansion is designed to bring more choice, control, and affordability to U.S. shoppers, particularly in high-demand categories such as electronics, fashion, and collectibles.
By offering Klarna’s flexible payments, eBay is catering to consumer demand for smarter, more manageable ways to shop, while boosting customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
eBay is one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, boasting more than 2.3 billion listings. It serves as a platform for both new and refurbished items, catering to consumers seeking value, rare finds, or sustainable alternatives.
Klarna, meanwhile, enables seamless payment experiences for shoppers through services like Pay in 4 — allowing purchases to be split into four interest-free payments — and Financing, which supports larger purchases through flexible plans.
Since launching the partnership in six European markets — the UK, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain — in December 2024, Klarna has enabled eBay shoppers to access higher-ticket items in a more affordable and budget-friendly manner.
Now, U.S. customers will also be able to take advantage of this payment flexibility across a wide range of product categories.
As part of the U.S. expansion, Klarna has also introduced its resell feature to eBay users in the region.
This tool allows customers to effortlessly list their past Klarna purchases on eBay using pre-filled product information and images. With over 500,000 listings generated via Klarna’s app since December 2024, the feature is helping drive circular commerce and reduce waste by encouraging resale and reuse.
The initiative reflects eBay’s strategic focus on scaling its Payments and Financial Services offering. For Klarna, it underscores its increasing role in powering seamless and sustainable payment experiences for major global retailers, and in shaping the future of customer-centric commerce.
eBay vice president & general manager of global payments and financial services Avritti Khandurie Mittal said, “With more than 2.3 billion listings, eBay is where people come to shop with purpose—whether they’re looking for value, rare finds, or sustainable options such as a refurbished camera, hard-to-find car part, or a vintage handbag. We are thrilled to expand our global strategic partnership with Klarna to the U.S. We’ve been very pleased with the positive customer and business impact Klarna has delivered in some of our key markets including the U.K. and Europe, and we’re now excited to give millions of U.S. shoppers more flexible and affordable ways to pay on eBay.”
Klarna chief commercial officer David Sykes said, “eBay is one of the world’s largest and most dynamic marketplaces, offering everything from the everyday to the extraordinary. We look forward to expanding our partnership to give millions of U.S. shoppers greater flexibility to purchase what they love — from rare collectibles, to that vintage coat they’ve been eyeing — whenever, however, and in smarter, more personalised ways.”
