Spendesk, a leading spend management and procurement platform tailored for mid-market businesses, has announced its company-wide adoption of Dust, a European specialist in custom AI agents for enterprises.

The partnership aims to streamline internal AI tool usage, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure strict compliance with data protection regulations across the UK and Europe.

The partnership was driven by Spendesk’s need to scale its AI adoption securely and effectively across all departments. Previously, different teams within the company had adopted various AI tools independently, leading to fragmented workflows and security challenges.

By unifying its AI strategy through Dust, Spendesk aims to eliminate these silos and ensure consistency in compliance and data security.

Spendesk has long embedded AI into its operations. It has developed over 15 AI-powered features since 2017, including tools that pre-fill over 2 million accounting fields monthly. The platform uses AI across departments, from sales automation to AI-powered assistants supporting customer service. However, the push for a more centralised and scalable AI system highlighted the need for a secure and cohesive approach—ultimately leading to this collaboration with Dust.

Dust, for its part, offers a robust platform that allows businesses to build secure, role-specific AI agents.

These agents integrate seamlessly with existing tools such as Notion, Intercom, and Slack, while ensuring that company knowledge bases remain protected and easily searchable using natural language. The platform supports customisation, allowing each team to deploy AI assistants tailored to their specific functions.

Now, every Spendesk employee, regardless of technical expertise, can create and use personalised AI agents that fit their role and workflow. This shift promotes a culture of self-service, productivity, and innovation.

By fostering cross-functional collaboration, Spendesk positions itself as a future-ready FinTech leader embracing secure AI adoption at scale.

The partnership also reinforces Spendesk’s commitment to privacy and European data sovereignty. By choosing a fellow European provider in Dust, Spendesk demonstrates that local innovation can offer cutting-edge AI capabilities while staying aligned with regional compliance standards.

Spendesk founder Rodolphe Ardant said, “It’s impossible to use Spendesk without interacting with AI. We’ve implemented no fewer than 15 AI-powered features since 2017, predicting and pre-filling more than 2 million accounting fields each month.”

Spendesk CEO Axel Demazy said, “As UK businesses continue to navigate an evolving regulatory and economic landscape, secure AI adoption has never been more crucial. At Spendesk, we found ourselves vetting contracts with individual AI assistants one by one. It wasn’t scalable or cost-effective. It also meant that teams more hesitant to experiment with AI were left behind, unsure of how these tools could support their work or comply with internal policies and local regulations.”

Rodolphe Ardant added, “This partnership gives our teams the most powerful productivity tool we’ve ever put in their hands. Internal efficiency translates directly into faster innovation for our customers, helping us deliver both the most in-demand spend management features and the next generation of AI-first capabilities. By partnering with a fellow French innovator committed to data security, we’re proving that European tech can lead in AI while staying true to our values of privacy and user empowerment.”

Dust CEO Gabriel Hubert said, “We built Dust to help companies create AI agents that are truly useful and trusted by their teams. Spendesk had the vision and urgency to move early, and together we’ve shown what’s possible when AI is deployed thoughtfully and securely at scale.”
