Pillar Security, a US-based startup specialising in AI-native cybersecurity solutions for enterprises, has announced the close of a $9m seed funding round.
The investment was led by Shield Capital, with participation from Golden Ventures, Ground Up Ventures, and a group of strategic angel investors.
Pillar Security provides an end-to-end security platform designed specifically for AI-powered software systems. With the rapid adoption of AI across enterprise software, the company aims to address the unique security challenges that emerge—challenges traditional cybersecurity tools are not built to handle.
The new capital will be used to accelerate Pillar’s research and development as well as bolster its go-to-market strategy. The company is focused on supporting enterprises as they scale AI implementation, helping them navigate complex threats such as evasion attacks, data poisoning, and intellectual property leakage.
According to a recent Deloitte survey cited by the company, 77% of cybersecurity leaders are highly concerned about risks associated with AI. Alarmingly, 40% of organisations surveyed have already suffered an AI-related security or privacy breach, with a quarter of those being the result of malicious activity.
“AI is fundamentally changing the way we build software — it doesn’t just add another step to traditional processes; it introduces an entirely new lifecycle,” Pillar Security CEO & co-founder Dor Sarig said. “We are entering the intelligence age, where software has gained agency and data itself has become executable. Pillar’s technology, backed by real-world AI threat intelligence, is built with this understanding, delivering a new class of protection designed explicitly for AI-related security risks. We are redefining application security to match the agentic and autonomous software of the Intelligence Age. This funding accelerates our mission to set new AI security benchmarks, empowering organizations to innovate securely and confidently, while uniting AI teams and security teams around a common language and toolset.”
