LSEG, a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider, has announced the appointment of Gianluca Biagini and Ron Lefferts as co-heads of its Data & Analytics division. Gianluca will join from S&P Global on 18 August 2025, while Ron has been with LSEG since 2021 and became a member of the executive committee in 2023.
The company, which serves more than 44,000 customers in over 170 countries, is known for its expansive suite of data, analytics and trading solutions. LSEG’s Data & Analytics division is a core part of its operations, and the duo will also oversee the continued growth of the firm’s flagship Workspace product.
Gianluca brings more than 25 years of experience in financial information services. At S&P Global Market Intelligence, he led the Data, Valuations and Risk Analytics unit, overseeing services across fixed income, private markets, OTC derivatives, and equities. Prior to that, he helped establish and globally scale Bloomberg Data Solutions, managing reference data and valuation services. He joined S&P Global in 2010 and held various leadership roles, including Head of Solutions and derivatives valuation business lead.
Ron currently serves as LSEG’s group head of sales & account management, guiding global go-to-market strategies and driving product and solution growth across all client channels. He previously led LSEG’s strategic accounts division. Before joining LSEG, Ron held senior roles at Protiviti and IBM, leading technology consulting, strategy, and large-scale transformation initiatives for financial services clients in North America and Greater China.
Together, Gianluca and Ron will report to LSEG CEO David Schwimmer and jointly lead the global data & analytics businesses, which are central to the company’s long-term strategy.
